C.F. Stead Westminster Calf — Black Pebble
A service boot with a dress boot's posture. CFS Westminster calf brings a tight, uniform pebble grain that sits between the formality of a smooth dress leather and the ruggedness of a work upper — suited for a uniform as much as a suit. The brogue-punched cap toe seam, 3/4 Goodyear welt, and HOMK proprietary rubber outsole complete a boot that holds its line from the office to the street. Last 9012. Black nickel throughout.

Upper Material
C.F. Stead Westminster Calf — Pebble Grain, Black
C.F. Stead's Westminster is a tumbled calfskin — processed after tanning to produce a consistent, fine pebble grain across the entire hide. Calfskin is cut from younger cattle, carrying a tighter fiber structure and thinner cross-section than full cowhide, which translates to a surface that creases sharply at flex lines and recovers cleanly. The pebble grain conceals minor scuffs and surface marks more effectively than a smooth leather while retaining the formal register of a polished calf. In black, the Westminster reads as a working dress upper: serious without being stiff, refined without being delicate.
Construction
3/4 Goodyear Welt — Traditional Lasted, Fully Resolable
A 3/4 welt runs from the toe through the waist of the boot, terminating before the heel seat — a construction choice that keeps the heel profile clean and the overall silhouette closer to a dress build than a full-welt work boot. The welt is mechanically stitched to the upper and insole, then sewn to the outsole in the traditional Goodyear method. The stacked leather heel and HOMK rubber outsole are each independently replaceable — the boot is designed to be maintained indefinitely, not replaced.
Hardware Detail
Black Nickel — Flat Eyelets Throughout
Black nickel eyelets run the full lacing column in a single unbroken finish. Against the pebble-grain black calf, the hardware is almost invisible — present only as a clean row of circles defining the lacing throat. The tonal decision is deliberate: on a boot this formal, hardware that announces itself would be a design failure. Black nickel disappears. The leather leads.
