Miner Boot
C.F. Stead Kudu — Snuff
Kudu is not cowhide. The open-pored, pebbled grain of African kudu leather absorbs dye differently, ages differently, and develops a patina that no cattle hide can replicate. Sourced from C.F. Stead of Leeds — one of the few tanneries in the world that processes kudu at scale — this is the Miner Boot in its most characterful expression. Last 9310. Dr. Sole rubber underfoot. Built to outlast the trend that made you buy it.

Upper Leather
C.F. Stead Kudu — Snuff, United Kingdom
C.F. Stead has been tanning leather in Leeds since 1904. Their kudu is sourced from southern Africa and processed with the same exacting standards applied to their renowned suedes and waxy pull-ups. Kudu leather is distinguished by its natural grain irregularity — no two hides are identical — and its open pore structure, which allows it to absorb conditioner deeply and develop a rich, uneven patina over time. The Snuff colorway starts warm and earthy, pulling darker at the toe and heel with wear.
Construction
Goodyear Welt — 180° Double / 270° Single Stitching
The Goodyear welt mechanically binds the upper, insole, and outsole through a continuous welt strip. The stitching pattern on this build matches the Miner silhouette's geometry: a 180° double stitch runs the forefoot perimeter for structural reinforcement, while a 270° single stitch wraps the heel where a different flex profile is needed. The welt can be broken down and rebuilt — this boot is designed to be resoled, not retired.
Hardware Detail
Brass — Eyelets & Speed Hooks
Brass hardware — not antique-finished, not plated — runs the full lacing column. Against the warm snuff leather and olive outsole, the natural brass reads as a grounding element, linking the earth tones of the upper to the field-green of the Dr. Sole rubber below. Brass patinates slowly, gaining depth without losing integrity.
Size Guide
Sizing — Last 9310, Standard U.S. Sizing
This boot follows standard U.S. sizing. Simply choose your usual boot or leather shoe size.
Coming from sneakers? We recommend sizing down half to one full size — for example, a US 9 in Nike translates to approximately US 8.5 in this model.
Coming from Red Wing or similar work boots? Select your usual size — the 9310 last fits consistently with standard work boot sizing.
